Planning issues
If you are making a planning application or commenting on one that affects you the Society may be able to offer advice. The aim is to protect the character of the Parish.
One of the biggest issues for the community at present is the application by the Department for Education and Skills to build a State Academy school in Much Dewchurch. Following consultation with the community, we found that the vast majority of residents are opposed to this application on the basis that the development is simply too big. The Society is running a Campaign Against School Expansion to organise local objection.
To date CASE has:
A petition with more than 240 signatures;
Briefed the Planning Sub-Committee on objections;
Spoken for the objectors at the Planning Sub-Committee meeting.
Briefed a barrister and lawyer who have represented the Society at the initial appeal in November, and at the subsequent resumption of the appeal in February. For a copy of the Closing Submission on behalf of the Society, follow the link - Report
